Wynn Al Marjan Project in UAE Making Strong Progress, Set to Open in 2027

The Wynn Al Marjan project, a $5.1 billion venture that will be the UAE's first integrated resort with a casino, is advancing rapidly, with 55 percent of the structural concrete already completed. The construction is progressing at a fast pace, with a new floor being added every week. As of the latest update from Wynn Resorts, the building has reached the 26th floor, with 73 percent of the planned 1,542 rooms already built, totaling 1,121 rooms.

The project is scheduled to be topped off by December of next year, with Wynn Resorts aiming for an opening in the first quarter of 2027. Despite holding only a 40 percent stake in the project, Wynn Resorts is taking a hands-on approach, with Wynn Design and Development overseeing all aspects of the resort’s design and construction. The company emphasized its unique position in the industry, stating, “Wynn Resorts is unique in that it maintains its own full-service design and architectural team.”

Wynn Al Marjan Island is a large-scale project, employing around 9,100 construction workers, with more than 100 concrete trucks operating onsite daily. The casino, which will occupy just 4 percent of the total floor space, will cover an impressive 225,000 square feet.

Gaming License

In addition to the casino, the resort will feature a 15,000-square-meter shopping promenade, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, and 7,500 square meters dedicated to meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). The property will also include a theater and 3.6 hectares of tropical landscaping.

In October, Wynn Resorts received the UAE's first commercial gaming operator's license after undergoing a thorough review by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). Max Tappeiner, the recently appointed president of Wynn Al Marjan Island, expressed optimism about the resort’s potential, saying that the integrated gaming resort could position Ras Al Khaimah as the world's fourth major gaming jurisdiction, following Macau, Las Vegas, and Singapore.
