Sportradar has secured a long-term contract to become the official technology and services solution provider for the Taiwan Sports Lottery, as part of a wider consortium.
The agreement, spanning from 2024 to 2033, was granted to Sportradar and its partners in Taiwan, including ADATA Technology, the licence holder, and China Trust Bank. This consortium secured the third Sports Lottery Licence from the Taiwan government's Sports Administration in December 2022. As part of the deal, Sportradar will introduce its Orako end-to-end sportsbook and player account management solution to more than 2,600 retail outlets in Taiwan. The solution will also be applied to online and mobile channels, following an omnichannel approach. Orako encompasses managed trading services, pre-match and live data and odds, audio-visual streaming, and marketing services.
The broader contract entails providing the necessary equipment for all retail stores, including customised lottery terminals, printers, and digital multimedia displays for live sports and betting information. Additionally, Sportradar has established a local team in Taipei to offer operational support.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl stated, "Our experience working with government-run lotteries worldwide, combined with our innovative technology and end-to-end Orako solution, positions Sportradar well to operate as part of a successful consortium for the Taiwan Sports Lottery. We're able to bring the full range of betting services to deliver a high-quality and consistent experience for people playing the games, whether in retail outlets, via the internet, or on their mobile devices."
Ted Lin, President of the Taiwan Sports Lottery Company, emphasized the objective of redefining the sports betting experience and highlighted Sportradar's comprehensive technological solutions for achieving this goal. Lin also expressed anticipation for harnessing synergies with Sportradar to transform the sports betting landscape in Taiwan.
