Stephanie Kelly, the former deputy director of the abrdn Research Institute, has left to join investment company Redwheel in the newly formed position of head of thematic sustainability research.
The asset management Redwheel has engaged Kelly to expand its ESG and sustainability skills, a top goal. Kelly was accountable at the abrdn Research Institute for the integration and application of ESG across the organisation. Prior to assuming this position, she was the institute's senior political economist and director of political, policy, and ESG research.
Kelly joined abrdn in 2014 as a member of its multi-asset investing division. Kelly's responsibilities at Redwheel will include establishing and overseeing a team of sustainability research professionals to serve as a key resource for Redwheel's investment teams.
Her group will collaborate with the group of Chris Anker, head of sustainability at Redwheel, and will report to Arthur Grigoryants, head of investment strategy.
Grigoryants commented: “Stephanie’s knowledge and track record in macro ESG research will be a key ingredient as we build out our sustainable offering. “The appointment is a reflection of the opportunities we see to enhance both the quality and breadth of our sustainability activities and develop our approach to collaboration.”
Redwheel announced two more sustainability-related hires in March of this year, namely Olivia Seddon-Daines as senior sustainability specialist and Katherine Velasquez Rodriguez as responsible investment associate.
