Following increased investor demand, HANetf registered 19 of its exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in Spain, bringing its overall number of products registered in Spain to 35.
Several first-of-their-kind thematic fund strategies are among the new funds offered by the UK exchange-traded product (ETP) provider, including the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure UCITS ETF, the Medical Cannabis and Wellness UCITS ETF, and the ETC Group Global Metaverse UCITS ETF.
The co-chief executive of HANetf, Hector McNeil, stated: "Spanish investors increasingly want access to thematic ETFs, and HANetf is well placed to satisfy this demand."
"Spain is a vital and growing market that no pan-European ETF issuer can afford to ignore."
The 16 exchange traded commodities (ETCs) that have already been "passported" into Spain include The Royal Mint Responsibly Sourced Physical Gold ETC (RMAU) and SparkChange Physical Carbon EUA ETC, in addition to the ETFs (CO2).
In addition to the London Stock Exchange, Deutsch Börse XETRA, Borsa Italiana, and Euronext Paris, HANetf has more than 40 products listed there.
According to consultancy ETFGI, despite the first outflow in 26 months, $522 million was redeemed in June, there were net inflows of $68.2 billion into European ETFs and ETPs during the first half of 2022.
Worldwide demand for thematic ETFs and ETPs is still high, with net inflows of $38.6 billion and $419 billion invested in total.
