Tourism revenue in Cyprus experienced a notable year-on-year increase of 17 percent in December 2024, according to a report published on Tuesday by the state statistical service.

The findings, derived from data collected through the traveller survey conducted by the service, indicated that earnings from tourism for the month reached €86.9 million, a rise from €74.3 million recorded in December 2023.
For the entirety of 2024, total tourism revenue amounted to €3.2 billion, marking a 7.3 percent increase in comparison to the €2.99 billion generated in 2023.
In December 2024, the average expenditure per tourist stood at €653.27, reflecting an 8.7 percent rise from the €600.79 recorded in the same month of the previous year.
Among the various nationalities visiting Cyprus, British tourists represented the largest market segment, accounting for 23.7 percent of total arrivals during December 2024. Their average daily spending amounted to €64.12.
Israeli tourists, forming the second-largest group with a 17.4 percent share of arrivals, demonstrated a significantly higher daily expenditure, averaging €162.55.
Meanwhile, Polish visitors, who made up 9.4 percent of total arrivals, spent an average of €72.17 per day during their stay in Cyprus.
